Is it normal to feel jealous if your ex starts seeing someone else?

My friend and I have both been through this, ME a few years back and her, well just this week. Her ex is seeing someone new (she initiated the breakup) and she feels POSSESSIVE of the guy.So, we'd like to know of that's normal or we have very messed up feelings

    if you want it or not you probably care for your ex in some way. In my experience this can can have two main reasons:

    1, you want them back and really want them to be with you instead of the other.

    2. you are just somewhat annoyed by the fact that your ex is moving on with someone and is so much into it while your ego still feels that she should not be over you yet.

    considering the fact that you explicitly mention the fact that she seems possessive it seems to me that you just feel that she is overdoing it and you are annoyed by how she is continuing her life without you. This makes me believe it is more about you and your ego being bruised by all this instead of still being into this woman.

    thanks guys, I'm glad she's over that phase now. It was sort of weird having to hear her say thing like, I am so JEALOUS, when a week before that incident she just kept calling him DOUCHE....weird....

    Plum6 nailed the reasons. It always stings when the ex starts seeing someone new, regardless of who initiated the breakup. There are always going to be feelings for an ex. Don't let your friend do anything stupid. Her ego will calm down and she'll feel better in no time.
