Is it normal to feel in a depressed mood for no reason?

I feel in a random depressed mood for NO reason at all. I don't really have that much to be depressed about, my life is pretty normal, but I just feel like I'm not getting enough out of life.

This happens to me every so often, but then it goes away for a few days/weeks and then it comes back.

Is this normal?

This sounds more like dysthymia than clinical depression. A psychologist can tell you for sure and make the right kind of plan for you.

It happens to more people than you think. I am only 23 and just graduated college! I have a very great life . I went to the doctor because I felt down and I had no reason to feel like that. It's caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and i was put on temporary medicine to for a few months now everything is back to normal !!!!

or ... It sounds like you're lacking of something. Maybe you lack of action? Of new things happening? You should start doing something totally different from what you usually do, cause what you are doing now isn't enough to chase away that depressed feeling you get. You could start playing a sport, or playing a musical instrument, use your imagination. I hope this helped a wee bit!

You didn't give a lot of details, but I think its normal to at some stage of you life experience occasional depressed moods. Maybe, seeking medical help is the answer. I've never really done that before, though. But, I have been depressed before and two things that always seem to help me get over it are meeting new people and imagining that I am motivated.

Depression is a medical issue and does not usually occur because someone is having a rough go at life.
