Is it normal to feel guilty about winning an argument wrongly?

I was arguing with a friend about something and to prove I was right I showed him the Wikipedia page on my phone that said what I was saying. He said it was wrong but I didn't believe that. Well later I read more about it and it turned out the Wikipedia page is wrong and he was right. Super confusing because I thought Wikipedia was never wrong. And my reaction was embarrassment! My friend must think I'm an idiot now because he was right, but I hope he thinks he was wrong now so he won't say anything. I feel so epicly bad now! I feel so bad because I won even though I was wrong.

You're both pretty immature to be arguing like this.

Perhaps he let you think he was wrong. I don't waste my time arguing with people, but when people try to argue with me I just let them have the last word or whatever it is that they want so they could leave me alone and in peace.

You should go apologize to your friend and admit that you were wrong. That's what I would do, anyway.

Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia that almost anyone can edit, so yeah, it's not always correct.

Unless he is a huge dick about, you could just go and tell him that you figured out that you are correct and say "I learned something today" or something like that. I know that I have had to do that with my husband on multiple occasions.

Only if you punched him in the face to shut him up.
