Is it normal to feel frustrated because i can never remember my dreams

I know most people usually forget their dreams a few minutes after they wake up. In rare instances they will remember parts of dreams they had if something particularly noteworthy happened. In other cases they will have a feeling of deja vu where they feel that something that's happening in their real life already happened in a dream.

I don't know why I feel so frustrated and angry at myself when I wake up in the morning and can't remember my dreams. It just sort of fades away from me and I can never get it back. I feel like I'm missing out on a big part of myself when I forget the dreams I had last night.

I hate when I remember my dreams and they make no sense at all. Like not even a trace of a finished coherent thought form. Like why am I hanging out with Gene Simmons on piles of potatoes and dirty clothes?

I usually hate when I do remember dreams. I'd rather forget all of them than remember the weird/scary dreams that haunt me through out the day. Those dreams usually make me feel depressed.

But I guess it's normal to want to remember the good ones.

  • Sometimes it's better than remembering your dreams.

There are some amazing dreams I have had, one in particular where it felt to life like, so real, and it was like something you would see in a short movie.

Others have been terrifying, where I wake up and still remember (sometimes these terrifying dreams repeat or repeat the same type of dream, just with some differences).

Sometimes remembering them can be good, and other times it can be bad.

There are certain techniques you can use to help you remember your dreams if you really wanted to. I know that one of them is keeping a notebook by your bedside and writing down what you dreamed about as soon as you wake up. You will start to condition yourself into remembering your dreams if you do this consistently.

Go to a library and tell the librarian you are wanting to learn more about dreams and how to remember them better. He/she can certainly point you to a book that will teach you all about it. You could become a dreaming expert if you wanted :)
