Is it normal to feel for video games compared to tv series?

So I just noticed this weird behaviour while playing Bioshock 2 and watched the alternate end where you sacrifice yourself, it made me shed a tear. This is something which has never happened as I watch TV series and now feel that there is nothing good on TV nowadays. I digress. The point being throughout my life I have felt empathy/sympathy for gaming characters, nothing in the real world. Pixelations make me cry it seems.

Maybe you're emotionaly invested because gaming is more interactive than TV. And by controlling the character you become him in a sense. I don't fuckin know......

    Ya its normal,

i was more entertained playing final fantasy 9 than any movie, book or TV show!!

TV and movies no matter how high their budget and effects are, will never match what video games can offer

I feel TV and movies are very one dimensional , you cant control the outcome, you are merely the spectator, you don't decide who lives and who dies and what the ending will become, that's outside your control which takes away the immersion,

immersion is the reason why the video game industry is worth more than film,tv and music combined

i actually shed a tear when Joel's daughter died in his arms in the The Last of Us, or when Aries got killed by Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7, no movie or tv show ever made me cry like those games did!

We for a connection to the characters we play and interact with so the more you play the closer you feel to them, you can feel like your losing a friend. A lot of gamers feel this to.
