Is it normal to feel dumb most times

Okay, I don't know if I'm explaining this right, but here we go.

First off, I would like to clarify, I believe myself to be an intelligent and sensible person.

But, sometimes, I feel like others are smarter than I. The feeling is worsen when said person is my age! When I say "smarter" I'm referring to current events, information, things A twenty something should already know. Pretty much common sense. For example, regarding common sense, imagine touching a hot stove--things of that nature. Not to say that I have, but I'm just illustrating a point.

I think it's lack of exposure or knowledge which is why I probably feel this way. Also, i'm a nervous person so perhaps i'm too concerned with appearing smart. But, it seems like most people contain more common sense/ knowledge than me.
Which makes me feel intellectual inferior sometimes.

Has anyone felt like this?

Don't know what your medical history is, but drugs definitely can have an effect on your mind.

      Ha!

Yes, that much is true, but I can assure you I am drug free.

Right, that makes sense! I'll try that.

Even if you were the cleverest person in the world, every other person in the world would know a myriad of things that you didn't know.

I don't think the problem is your intelligence, I think it's a lack of confidence. You could spend a lot of time reading and learning, but you could also use the time working on ways of making yourself feel more confident. The latter is probably the best approach, although there's no harm in improving your knowledge too.
