If you're genuinely filled with revulsion at the sight of a deaf child speaking in sign language, then no, that ain't normal.

If you're referring to being grossed out by the foot-long rope of drool hanging from the special needs person who smells like a large diaper, then yes, that's normal. But you should still try your best to hide it until they're out of the room.
