Is it normal to feel discomfort in vagina when someone describes pain?

Basically I was just wondering if anyone else feels discomfort down there if something painful gets described (or in some cases, watched). If I find something particularly disturbing this seems to happen to me. I think it's normal for people to feel "sympathy" pain but I don't know if this is normal!
