Is it normal to feel constant undertones of pain?

I feel like no matter what i'm doing, i'm always in a little bit of pain. I never know what to say when a doctor asks me to describe my pain, or rate it 1-10, because I've always thought that pain was a relative feeling.

You wouldn't know you were alive if you didn't feel little things like that. It would be very strange to feel perfectly OK in every way. You have to think of it this way... There are billions of little physical and chemical processes going on in your body right know, it would be really weird if none of them ever went wrong or caused little pricks or funny feelings. You might just have tuned into these too closely and have become hyper aware of them.

Although, there is the possibility that you are a chronic pain sufferer. If that's the case, the pain isn't normal, and would have a cause that your doctor should be able to suss out. If you've ever been injured or have a muscle disease or something, or even early onset arthritis, one of these could be the cause. Little pricks or slight numb throbs are normal if you sit in awkward positions a lot however. You might just need to stretch and do more exercise to get your circulation going.
