Is it normal to feel bad for inanimate objects?

For example, if I see a toy being thrown away, I feel bad for it because it wont be played with anymore or recieve any love.

Totally. I feel sometimes (irrationally obviously) that inanimate objects can sense my feelings. Like I bought an oil lamp recently on ebay and I was a little disappointed with it in person, but then I felt awful for feeling that way and now I love my disappointing little oil lamp.

I used to pile all my stuffed animals on my bed at once as a kid because I thought the ones that didn't get to hang out on the bed would feel all dejected.

  • I always felt bad when I realized that all the food in the fridge was sitting in the dark all day! Poor lonely little veggies...

every time i go to the store and walk around the toy aisle, i feel bad for the toys because they've just been left there to fend for themselves and make some grubby kid happy. thats also why i feel bad for sockmonkeys because they always so sad.

When i was younger, i couldn't turn the head/ arms/ legs around on an action figure without turning them back the right way. It looked too painful, lol and i'd be completely pissed off with myself if i ever dropped one!
    I think that's totally normal x)

Be careful not to become a hoarder..That stuff doesn't have feeling, well, unless it's possessed...All the better reason to throw it out..
