I feel really awkward and uncomfortable when the song "closer" by nine inch nails comes on the radio, but only when other people are around, like friends and family. Is it normal to feel this way?
i dunno is it normal that i was singing this in class and my teacher started singing along?
The song is wonderful, but around family I would totally feel awkward. Around friends and stuff though it's fine.
Oh and on a side note: a friend of mine said the line "I want to feel you from the inside" could allude to Trent Reznor being gay. I know it could be a misinterpretation but I could also explain a lot.

Interesting. I love this vid but I never picked up on any references to satanism. What are the symbols in the vid that reflect satanism?
the masks worn by characters in the video with the crucifix on them. the skull with the horns that someone keeps putting over their face. the naked woman with the lizard eggs spinning on her finger which are making a satanic symbol. The all seeing eye symbol on the beat counter. The scene with trent in bondage is probably symbolizing him getting sodomized. the lyrics...and theirs more, i just have to watch the video to remember
I like singing this at karaoke. I did it at the all ages bowling alley once and they kicked me off the karaoke machine.
I think you'll find that the sexual themes are a metaphor for his drug abuse. The entire album was devoted to his spiralling drug addiction. If you really believe that he sold his soul to satan and liked to be sodomised, you've got a WILD imagination!
absolutely correct! trent went thru a very dark period in his life. he was full of anger, pain angst was really really hot and he used music as a form of release. granted, his songs by no means "praise jesus." but just b/c someone questions or doubts God does not mean they're a satanist. he's older now, still really really hot and has mellowed out quite a bit.
a large part of art and music is interpretation, and we're all going to view things differently. nothing wrong with that.
I like that song. I've blasted that song so loud in my car before. That is a good song! I think it brings out a horny side in me that I rarely show.

I feel like such a creep when listening to this song, but I like it very much though. Yeah, it could be pretty inappropriate/awkward around certain people...
I love this song. Besides the fact that it's arousing. I wouldn't want to listen to this song with family members around.
