Is it normal to feel awkward when sharing media with people?

When you enjoy a song, movie, video, or any other type of media, and then you try to show it to a friend/family member/co-worker/significant other. I avoid it at all costs, because it feels immensely awkward while I sit there awaiting their reactions. They never react the way I expect them to and it's always disappointing. I end up regretting even bothering to share it with them.

Is that normal?

    Normal , I usually just send the link to someone instead of in person .

    Usually when I share a video with someone, they take one look at me and call me weird.

    I do this too. My music choices range from "You gotta hear this!" to "Yeah, I know. Please don't judge me"

    Well, it's normal that you feel let down by their lack of enthusiasm, but we all share different tastes. Don't invest thought about it.
