Is it normal to feel awkward and insecure about this?

I thought I looked cool and sounded cool when I talked. Instead when I hear my recorded audio and see my recorded video, I think, "How do I have any friends if I look and sound weird like this?". I just feel insecure. Anyone else like this?

    Normal. When I hear my recorded voice, I think I sound like a mentally-disabled version of Goofy. My friends have told me that everyone thinks their recorded voice sounds horrible. Also - never, ever record yourself singing one of your favorite songs. You will ruin the song for yourself. Trust me, that's from personal experience.

    I agree with dappled. We all look different in photos than in what we see in the mirror. I get so angry when I see myself in a photo and hear my recording. I will say to myself, I didn't look like that this morning, or whatever... So ya it's normal

    Everyone looks different in pictures and everyone sounds different when their voice is recorded. Well, except me. I sound the same in recordings as in real life. I don't know why.
