Is it normal to feel and believe that monogamy doesn't exist

I feel monogamy doesn't exist - everyone cheats at some point regardless of how marvelous ones relationship might be - it just feels as though we as humans aren't biologically structured to limit ourselves to one person - monogamy is something that is taught and learnt by / through society, religion, up bringing , family values etc.... it is not something that is inherent i feel. am i silly for thinking this way or does anyone else agree?
i'd like to know how / what you guys think about this.

cheers !! :)

Yeah but, HELLO? Humans have feelings and we are easily jealous creatures.

    So no.

I believe it does exist, but I also believe that many compulsions and actions that violate basic biology also exist. Humans are not slaves to their biological functions, nor are they salves to their emotions.

SO you want to say that your mother or father had secret affairs. BUT my parents are happy with each other and i too will be happy with one.

I agree, monogamy is socially ingrained and not biologically programmed. From an evolutionary perspective humans are intended to spread our genes as much as possible, and to seek multiple partners to bear our offspring.
