Is it normal to feel an overwhelming need to schedule things

Even if I have absolutely nothing important to do, I always feel the need to make a schedule in my mind of what I'm going to do that day/night. Like, I'll just be sitting around at home and I'll have to stop and think, "Ok, I'm going to get on AIM, then check facebook, then work on homework, then watch -insert show-, then take a shower, then eat. Then I'll clean my room and maybe read a little before going to bed." It especially happens in the evening, and if I don't do it I feel anxious until I do.

It's normal... to a certain extent. I know the feeling of 'having' to do something. If you feel like you HAVE to do this, it very well could be OCD. You should check it out.

  • I don't think it is unusual. You like plans & structure. What's wrong with that?

Definitely sounds like OCD. I'm that way too.

it sounds like you are suffering from OCD. You need to see a psychologist to help you get to grips with this before it gets out of control and affects other areas in your life.
