Is it normal to feel a sharp tugging on your bellybutton?

So this happened a couple months ago and hasn't happened since but I just thought I'd check on it. I was at Walmart with a friend when suddenly I felt my bellybutton get tugged, like there was a string connecting it to my ass. Everytime I took a step it hurt. And it really felt like a string. At first I was like, I need to know more about bellybuttons, cuz isn't that where they tie off the cord when your born? So maybe its a giant cord inside... It hurt sobad I couldnt get off the floor so my friends stuck me in a cart till some bossy bitch told us we couldn't do that and why can't we act like adults ect ect. Now if I stick my finger in my bellybutton it does it but only till I take my finger out again so its not been a problem. So is that something other people have noticed too? Or what? And I didn't doanything with my bellybutton before it happened it just struck out like a demon. Thoughts?

    You to see a doctor. My theory is that this either a hernia or parasite. Both of which have the potential to kill you.

        But, sometimes its a reality. Its always better to face up to it and rule it out than stay scared and not remedy the situation.

    Eeeekk. Weird to hear people say it's a hernia. I had the same thing, sept mine was from my belly button connected to my vagina. Woops! TMI lol That was pretty chronic for me about a year ago. No problem now though.

    Holy crap you're right. Wow. This site is pretty useful. I just found out I have a hernia. Not that there is anything to be done about it they say. Unless my bellybutton comes oozing out I won't need an opperation. Yipee. This is the weirdest news I've ever received about myself. I have mixed feelings. But thanks anyway :)

    Both of the above are correct: I had the same thing at work a year ago, and ended up in emergency surgery for a hernia.

    Off work for a month.
