Is it normal to feel...smarter than everyone else, in a way?

Is it normal to feel a bit smarter than everyone around me...? I feel like, i can read into things more deeply than everybody else, an example of this today i saw my tutor at college talking to the other guy and i know he mentioned me (i had just spoken with him moments before) I sort of, felt that he was talking about me... I can tell what people are thinking in a group of people and can read body language excellently, i know it sounds narcassitic but i feel as if, some people are stupider than me, yet at the same time, i am terribly flawed...???????????????????????????????

Most folks in the US believe that they have "above average" intelligence.

However, most folks in the US are not.
I hope that answers your question.

This has to be a troll post though. I don't believe that a person of even average intelligence would use the word "stupider" while claiming that they feel smarter than everyone else.

Well I know I'm awesome so I probably shouldn't even go down to your intelligence but do you really think the word "stupider" exists?

Furthermore we all are more intelligent than average in a way!

When you've met all the world's seven billion people and found yourself smarter than every single one of them, then you can proclaim yourself smarter than everyone else. For now, you just think you are smarter than two people you saw in a room. Big claim there, Charlie-boy. Let's break out the ticker-tape parade and crown you the world's smartest thinker. On second thoughts, let's not.

You'de probably find the study of "emotional intelligence" interesting. It can be as important as the more common IQ measurement in predicting success in life.

I think I know what you mean. It's like you can sort of see people better and understand them in ways that most people don't. I personally believe it's normal to have a sort of superiority complex.

I think i can relate to you. I have this weird pride about myself (including intelligence) compared to others but at the same I have low self esteem

Intelligence and Understanding are two different things.
I am not the most intelligent person, by any stretch of the imagination. I do, however understand something that no other person understands.
Does this make me smarter than everyone else?

Honestly it is possible, I can read people really well and typically have an understanding of their personality and motives while others just take everything at face value and then get surprised when they do something "out of the ordinary" for that person. But the same people who can't read these things tend to also be the ones who when they're around five friends, text more than they talk...
