Is it normal to fear what you know is not real?

I read lots of creepypasta (Scary stories on the internet), and some, which I know is not real, really scare me, day and night when I think about it. Is it normal for me to dwell with these fears? Should I stop reading the stories?

Actually, its pretty common for people to fear the unknown. But once you get to know the unknown, you learn not to fear it!

I understand how you feel. The BEN DROWNED videos on Youtube scared the crap out of me even though the tiny section of my brain that actually thinks rationally told me that the idea of the ghost of a boy who was sacrificed to a cult, haunting an N64 game cartridge, was really stupid.

  • how is fear irrational? anyhow fear of something not real is irrational so dont watch them if they upset you

  • Fears are irrational in nature so of course you're going to be afraid of something that can't possibly be real.

My advice: take a break from the horror. Everything in it's time and place.
