Is it normal to fear elevator dreams and what does it mean?

I have dreams have that I am an important person going somewhere and I get trapped in an elevator that is too small for the elevator shaft. when we start to move up or down the interior box goes in tilted directions and gets caught in the shaft until shifting people re-distribute the weight and alters the trajectory of the box. Sometimes the box swings back and forth. sometimes the bottom of the elevator drops out so i can see below. almost always there is a questionable cable connection and poor brakes. i am fearful and can get out but usually at great risk. what does this mean and is it normal?

    Not normal, but sorry you have nightmares like that. I really don't like elevators or escalators myself!

      Thanks Nattygirl13, that makes me happy for everyone else. I don't really mind not being so normal. yeah, escalators are kinda weird too....thank god I don't dream about them!

      BirdyMoJo- I agree in part with the analysis that you sent. It gives one the obvious answer.
      I also have a dream of walking on catwalks around the edge of a very tall library . . .but have come to the conclusion that it is not what is represented but my lack of ability to fly or have faith that I can get across missing walkways, or that I can control my side of the dream by pulling things to me, etc that makes me afraid in the dream.
      I know at the end of the elevator dream, I am dealing only with the elevator and not where I was originally going.

    I had an elevator dream before too.
    I has with 3 buddies from school and we were
    all in an elevator, all of a sudden the elevator started falling and while we were plunging to our death, one of my friends was laughing the whole time.
