I don't know if it's normal. I didn't eat meat for about 5 years though. I ate eggs and dairy, but no meat, chicken, fish etc, so I was a lacto-ovo veterinarian. I did it because all my friends were doing it in high school and it lasted a year into college. I wasn't doing it for a noble cause. I was doing it, because the crowed I was with did it. Anyway, I actually never craved meat during that time nor did I ever cheat and eat it. I don't know if THAT is normal that I never craved it.
I wound up eating meat again, because my husband's family (he was my boyfriend then) was really fond of meat/chicken etc and I went over there for dinner a lot. I felt guilty that they always had to make something special for me so I was like eh maybe I should just eat meat again. I never craved it though.
Again, I made the decision based on fitting in LMAO... at least I own it :P. I don't know if what you're feeling is normally, but I doubt it's particularly abnormal even though my experience was different.
You aren't missing much. Hell, it's vegetarian ingredients that give meat its flavor anyway.
How did you go about eating vegetables when before you were weaned?
The thought of carrot juice secreted from mammary glands is hard to believe.
Yes it's normal. I think we tend to fantasize about things when we least expect to.
