Is it normal to fall in love with your best friend?

My best friend and I were very close up until he got a girlfriend about 6 months ago. I had started to have feelings for him, however about a year ago, but never had the guts to tell him. We did everything together and we told each other everything. & I always got the feeling that he felt the same way for some reason. He would always compliment me and rest his head on my shoulder at night, watching movies or driving home. I would also catch him staring at me quite often. So when he and his girlfriend got together, we started to drift apart & now I barely see him. I thought that maybe our distancing away from each other might help me to get over him. However, it's done the exact opposite. My feelings for him have, in fact, only gotten stronger. Is this normal? & what should I do about it? Thanks :)

Its clear what needs to be done. Murder her. Once she is gone he will be all yours. Are you gay?

You could try to get back in touch with him if that works or try to forget about him. It may seem hard but with time your heart will heal.

I think this is very normal. You've obvioustly spent a vast amount of time with this guy being your best friend and all which is great. This amount of time together with someone means you have had a lot of time to get to know him, what he's like and you like it...so which is the reasaon for you developing feelings for him, because you like who he is and you like spending time with him. The only probblem as you stated is that he has a girlfriend now and its causing you two to drift apart. I hate to say this but maybe it could be that he dosent feel the same way :( if he did he could break it off with his girlfriend and try and make things work with you.
