Is it normal to fall in love with someone i've never met?

I met a girl on omegle text from another country a couple of weeks ago. She and I have many mutual interests. And she's uber beautiful. I added her on facebook and we chat regularly. I think I'm falling for her, but I haven't told her anything about it. Is this normal?

A few years back I'd have said how can you fall for someone online? That you've never met. A lot of people still question it. I used to until I fell for someone. A lot of people make long distance relationships work :) so go for it if you really like her :')

first of all, if you are starting to fall for her make sure to get her to agree to video-chat with you so that you know she's what she says she is.

Second: You really should focus on someone closer to you ... I'm not saying that this is doomed to fail but why fall for someone you might not be able to meet for YEARS? You would miss out on so many things ...

I think if you start falling for someone online without meeting them personally it is a different kind of falling in love, I really do.

I think it is more filling a void which was previously in your life. Loneliness, desperation, self doubt, attention starvation. You meet someone online and you have these notions about who they are, only so much is told of them through their profile and theres room for your mind to expand on it and fantasize about them. They come across as appealing because their text messages are delivered in no tone, and your fantasy at this point shapes how you accept these. You feed off the attention and this beautiful seperation distance feeling of longing.

I'm not saying it can't work out in the real world all I'm saying is falling in love with someone you've never met is different from falling in love with someone, gradually over time, by spending time with them. That is much more human and based in reality.

Yes. However, I am learning to accept the possibility of us never being together in such a manner.
