Is it normal to fall in love with someone from another country?

I am in a relationship with someone from another country. We started out as friends but its growing. At some point it may become very real. My grown children are skeptical, I'm not taking crazy risks, but i want to see where this goes. Whats wrong with that? We have exchanged photos of our families and and we can talk freely about anything. The possibilities are worth it to me. Doew anyone agree with me?

    Two of my best friends met on World of Warcraft, one of them being a single mother from the midwest, and the other a graphic artist from Australia. They've been happily married for about 5 years now, after courting online for 3.

    I became best friends with a girl I met online when I was 14. Finally, when I was 25 I drove through 4 states with my husband to meet, and stayed with her and her family. It never made much of a difference to us. Before meeting, we both sent each other birthday and christmas gifts and I even ended up straightening out some of her medical bills for her.

    Point is, where you met, or where you live isn't important to a relationship, it's that you're BOTH willing to make it work.

    Your family is just concerned for your wellbeing. Word of warning: no expensive gifts or money lending unless you've physically met them or if you've known them for a minimum of 2 years. If your significant other has nothing to hide and truly loves you, they WILL understand.

    I've fallen in love with someone from another country before. Still am with this person. So, it's quite normal to me.

    Normal but there´s probably someone equally good for you in your own country. I can´t personally get why you would decide to be with someone you cannot meet on a regular basis :o
