Is it normal to fall for someone you haven't met yet?

we started from being a chat mate then later on.., he became my friend... we've been exchanging messages for almost six months and he confess to me that he loves me..., but I'm afraid to tell the truth that I love him too. so I just keep on pretending that he's just a friend to me.., Is it normal not to tell your true feelings to someone you haven't met yet?

Hello! I think it would be better to say 'have a crush' rather than 'fall in love' because it might be a little early to say that. I've experienced something like that. It was a friendship though. I met this girl on the Internet and we would talk for hours every day. We called each other best friends and I cared about her so much. Then we went to the same college and became roommates (this was our dream). But unfortunately, not everyone is the same as they seem on the Internet. We soon got distant and now we just occasionally greet each other. So yeah. I think knowing someone in real life is really important! :)

You sound really young and I think you should just wait on this and mature a bit before you even use the word love. I thought I was in love many times when I was a teenager and then I realized I didn't even know what love was until I met my boyfriend and he is now my fiance. We met online and started skype-ing every day for 2-3 hours and after a few months, we met, stayed in love and have been in love ever since. But it doesn't always work like that and you seem like you don't even know this person. I confessed my feelings for him over skype the exact moment he did me. We actually said "I have strong feelings for you" spontaneously at the exact same time and that's love. If he told you he loves you and you're holding back, I'm sorry but I don't think you actually love him as you shouldn't have a problem saying this if you actually knew him. I don't even think you know this guy.

You can not possibly know what love is if you think you are in love with someone you have never met. It really doesn't work that way. You may very well be in love with the idea of this person being who you believe he is, but you don't even really know him, so how can you possibly be in love? Be patient and move very slowly or you are going to get hurt.

  • Sounds like true love me to me, by that I mean true love how a 14 yr old would define it, which I guess isn't true love at all.

    Is true love even real?
