    I do it a lot. It's how I goth first bf. my best friend and I do it sooo much it gets obvious, so just do it a couple times.... Then in the future fess up to it like I do. I told my crush a week after it happened and he smiled and said, "I kinda figured that.". Then three days later be put a note in my locker saying that he loved me being honest with him even though it could have humiliated me so he asked me out. It truly felt like a fairytale! We aren't together anymore but we are super close. Good luck! :)

    Yeah its normal. But I would recommend "accidentally" starting a conversation face-to-face. That is much more likely to get you somewhere.
