Is it normal to experience same elements of a nightmare.

I awoke one morning after dreaming of a medical emergency at work. I'm not a medical aid attendant or anything related. All I remember is being at my workbench when I heard repeated blasts of the horn, signifying a medical emergency. The blasts were hurried and quick, almost panic-like. I turned to see what was going on...than I woke up.

I paid no mind to this, made no mention of this to anyone else and almost forgot about it until a couple days ago...

A friend and coworker of mine was having a couple drinks and said "I had a dream last night where someone was killed at work". I just chuckled and said "I guess it means to be more careful and to quit drinking". I didn't press the issue or ask questions.

Now I'm concerned! Is this normal?!

  • I've had a similar situation with my sister. I once had a dream that a meteorite landed at our back yard and a bunch of blue-ish, green-ish gasses were coming out of it and immediately formed to a solid alien. I woke up and told my sister what had happened because I usually don't have dreams like those. Before i could finish what i encountered, she told me the same thing happened to her except she was the alien. I'm not lying at all either. It freaked us out.
But you might be close to your friend and that's why you had similar dreams. And that me and my sister are related, therefore closer in a sense.
It's all related to a field in psychology.
