Is it normal to expect more?

I often watch celebrities making appeals for charities and think they have a cheek! They are asking ordinary people to give up a % of their wages to help but they give 100 times as much to their children for pocket money!

I saw an appeal yesterday to help little children with cleft palates which was heartbreaking. They said they had the surgeons willing to donate their time. Their time? Is that all? What about financing 10 of these children instead of buying their friends lunch at an expensive restaurant?

How dare these people be soooo rich and expect us to give a larger percentage of our income than they will.

Is it normal that this really really annoys me?

Omg yes!!!!! This pisses me off!!!! You guys are the ones with the money! How about you give and stop asking us to. No matter how much they give, they can always give more and that reeeally bothers me.

    The celebrities, I agree.

However, when they say that the surgeon donates his time, that means he works for free :P That's a pretty generous offer, hun. He/She COULD charge them the whole price...

I think your seeing this the wrong way. The donation is their fame, since they are famous they are getting the word out which is much more useful than giving money. A non-famous person would have to go to greater lengths to help get the word out.

Well lots and lots of people's donations add up, a lot higher than one rich person.

But regarding their spending on rich restaurants etc, yes they can afford it. If they gave all their money away they'd just be like you and me!

    Further to this.
We still have enough food in this entire world to feed everyone (all the starving kids included) Its just that we don't live in a communist run society that says everyone must drive this car and everyone must eat this amount of food etc etc.

This is the world we live in. Get rich, and you are respected. Yes sir, I have your table for you now, overlooking the lights on the lake.
