I absolutely love to read and I'll spend time reading the classics to fantasy to horror, to non-fiction, etc. I mean I never just stick with one genre and remember it seemed unusual being a guy in high school that enjoys reading.
Is this normal?
Yes it is normal but excessive reading can lead to consequences like good grades, a good job, and not getting a date for prom.

i did the same thing. eventually i just read myself out. some lit prof said some people read as 'escapism' but so what. still read, but not near as much. i learned about 2/3 of the way thru it that i had so much more to read that i would never re-read any of the books so starting passing them on, selling them, donating them. so i dont keep any when i'm done with them. might save you some shelf space.
It's very normal. Alot of people say that reading is boring but as long as you like reading, then it is normal for you. Personally I love to read as I am quiet.

Yeah. There's nothing wrong with it. Its normal. Why would it seem so abnormal?
I mean, I think it just implies that you are a bit more mature than the others.
