True. Even models don't look like models. Most of what you see in magazines is Photoshop, either to pare down women of a healthier size or to erase the bones on ones who truly are "model-thin." Makeup covers dark circles and sallow skin.
Everyone's body is different, and different bodies have different caloric needs. The amount you're suggesting eating, just to put it into perspective, is about what a 65-year-old sedentary woman should eat in a day. If you are not a sedentary senior citizen, you need more calories for energy, bone density, muscle growth and normal cellular repair.
Your weight isn't just a cosmetic attribute like your hair color or your clothing style. It's a sign of your overall health. Focus on things that improve your health -- more vegetables and fruits, more whole food, more exercise -- and less on things that are by-products of your health such as your body weight.
When I'm inactive, that's about all I eat. But I feel much better when I'm active and using the food I eat for energy. But why would you want to eat like a model? Nobody considers them healthy.
And 1200 isn't bad. 3 small meals at 300 kal a piece and snacks in between at about 100-150kal for snacks... Preferably through fruits and some of "your" favorite veggies. Be realistic.
Yeah.. Make yourself attractive by your actions... Not by looking like your on crack....
