Is it normal to drop out then make lots of money?

So this girl I grew up with dropped out of school at 16 because her mom went to prison and she was raised by her brother so she dropped out and got her GED. She ended up getting hired at some big company at 18. Now she is 24, driving a brand new Benz, and making over $60,000 a year. My friend confirmed at the company she is a financial risk management officer. How did she get such a good job with no degree and making such good money. Is it normal?

Heres a crazy suggestion - she started at the bottom and worked hard to get to where she is? Just because she dropped out doesn't mean she's stupid. Maybe she had goals, worked to achieve them and surprise they worked out for her. a lot can happen in 6 years of you work hard and aim for a goal :) good on her

Good on her...but not normal. Unless she blew the guy off for the position

60K isn't a lot of money though. It's just okay amounts of money.

Dropping out does not usually ever have these results.
