Is it normal to drop hints that your lgbt + instead of "coming out"

So I was walking in the mall and I had noticed this guy with rainbow hair and made the statement to my friend "The color of his hair is every emotion that I've ever felt in life" and she laughed and said "a rainbow" and I said "yep" so does that count as coming out or do I have to tell her that I'm bi- sexual -by the way I'm a boy

No she thinks you're gay anyways.

You should tell her that you are definitely LBGTXYZPDQABC or whatever the hell letters that they are adding to the homosexual acronym lately.

Why would you have to tell that friend? Does it matter if she knows?

Yes it does matter if OP wants his friend to know this important information about him.

Not my point, what I mean is why should it matter to her how he is sexually...

Well of course it shouldn't matter, but I can understand OP wanting to know the friend's attitude to it

That's true, and it could always be a good first step to coming out to a close, (ttusted?) friend...

I do agree with your post though about just telling her tho

You should tell them straight out and dont count on the fact that they may have gotten your hint. Just be honest.

Your comment was a good introduction to coming out, but whether she got it or not depends on how perceptive she is. If it's important to you that she knows about your bisexuality, just tell her.

Dropping hints ain't enough unless you make it official.

Yeah, I guess that kinda thing is normal.

About the hair incident: you made an innocent comment about the dude's hair. If it wasn't in the context of this question I'd think nothing of it either.

If this was a satisfying way of coming out, then you wouldn't question it.

Anyway, if you trust your friend, and truly believe she'll support you, then gather your courage and come out; she probably already knows.

Stop beating around the bush and just come out with it. Any true friend will understand, and in many cases, a lot of people usually already know when someone is gay.
