Is it normal to drink this much caffeine ?

I would say I generally ingest around 400mg caffeine a day . But I'm not like most people who take caffeine. I use it to help me in exercising .
On cardio days, I use it to help me last: 1hour on stationary bike,2hours walking, and 2 hours of hard work on the elliptical .
On weight training days, I use it for 2 hours of power walking and 2 hours of heavy lifting .
So I don't really 'waste' caffeine by just sitting down and doing light tasks .I get it from caffeinated protein powder, caffeinated tea, energy drinks, coffee . Depending on the day . Anyways, is this normal ?

Why not just do steroids or cocaine?

B vitamins work better, and there is no crash.

I'm really not sure it's healthy to screw around with your heartrate at the same time as doing cardio.

Be very careful using caffeine as a workout supplement. I saw a kid that used to work out with me, use too much and over strain his heart. He had a heart attack at 19 years old and almost died!

Energy Drinks can be dangerous as with too much caffeine. Caffeine is beneficial to the metabolism as it speeds things up, but you'll end up crashing. Lower your intake to a safer level and cut out those crap energy drinks! Also, do you take vitamins?

  • I strongly suspect coffee slowly gives you brain damage. Everyone i know that drinks heaps of it is borderline retarded, so that might explain your problem maybe?

There's a brand of coffee called,"Deathwish" and it has the highest amount of caffeine per cup at 600mg. If you try it, take it slowly and in small amounts as high doses of caffeine can apparently kill you.

It's fine, as caffeine isn't the worst drug to get involved with, but I suggest going a little lighter, take vitamin B rich supplements and getting plenty of sleep. That would probably be much more substantial than getting caffeine over-hyped in your system.

  • A lot of athletes use it for energy during a workout, so I think it's normal. But you should be very very careful. You are working out so much that you may not know your true point of fatigue. Also, I've heard that it's a real bitch to stop caffeine.
