Is it normal to drink a gallon of water a day?

SO here is the deal.
I am 19 years old, average built about 125 lbs. I work out but not intense, just cardio for 30 min, 3 times a week. But i am constantly thirsty! I end up drinking a whole gallon of pure water a day (i even carry a gallon because i cant refill a nalgene water bottle that fast)!
I went to the doctor but even she cant figure out what is causing me to be so thirsty all the time.
Has anyone heard of this or know what can be wrong?

Hyper hydration can be leathel as drinking more then 4 lieters can drown your organs at the celullar leavel. the maximum amount of water you should be drinking in a day is 4 lieters. More then that is very very dangorus. Excessive thirst can be triggerd by many diffrent things, including an abnormily high sodium leavel in the blood stream (salt) try to avoid foods with lots of salt in them, limit water intake to 8 large glasses a day and if you dont see any improvmeant in 2 weeks try seeing a docter.
I have other sugestions but with all the possibilities, the docter is the best bet after cutting down salt.

It's good to be thirsty, and it can be annoying to be thirsty all the time, but over all, it will help you out in the long run. You will be getting plenty of fluids and your body will be healthy.

I do the same thing but I don't do much and is in great shape. I get thirsty all the time, I even have to wake up to get drink. SO its normal, but it may depend on where you at. I'm up in Idaho and its pretty dry. But I'm the only one who likes water so everythings different with people.

Maybe your spit glands aren't working properly, or your body just needs that much water to work.

Google "excessive thirst" and see if that sheds any light on this.
