Is it normal to drink a gallon of milk a day?

I drink one gallon of milk every day. I have been doing it for almost one year to the day. I been feeling some funny shooting pain lately in my fingers and sometimes my head feels like it's twitching on the inside. That and my chest hurts sometimes and my heart flutters a lot. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack.

Is this because of the milk? I only recently considered this possibility, so I switched from whole milk to 2% milk. But I still drink one gallon every day.

The reason I drink so much milk is because my throat hurts and I need something to soothe it as I smoke prescription cannabis. I smoke all day every day. And I always have milk with me when I smoke to sooth my throat. I don't know of any other drink that works as well.

I don't know the side effects of milk over-consumption, but it's safe to say that too much of anything is not good for you.
In case you didn't know: honey is soothing to the throat as well.

Hmmm... Can't exactly drink that to clear my throat. Unless I mix it with something. I suppose coffee with creamer would do the trick too but I'd be drinking too much caffeine.

    Yes and no.
    1. It's understandable that you're drinking something to soothe your throat, but I think a whole canister isn't healthy.
    2. You're probably in pain from the fat content in the milk. Is your milk organic?
Is it made from cows that are grass-fed?
rbst (I think that's how you spell it) is a growth-hormone. It's extremely dangerous and most commercial dairies give it to their animals. Also, most animals are sadly grain-fed. Grain-fed animals have higher amounts of Omega-6 which isn't good.
Animals are supposed to eat grass things they would find in the wilds. Animals aren't suppose to have grains. What country do you live in? Where does your milk come from? In America everything is grain based and not enough people get Omega-3 in their diet. All this deviates from the Gatherer Diet. Ancient man mostly ate fruits and vegetables, Their animals the same. When grain entered man's diet it started to cause problems, it was balanced with Omega-3. The body has a extremely hard time digesting grains. In places like Asia, grains are balanced out with vegetables, fruits and fish. This is one of the reasons why I'm trying to get as close as I can to the Gatherer Diet.
    3. Do you have to drink cold drinks or can you also drink hot?
Iced tea, Iced Coffee, Juice can be very soothing, but no citrus and make sure it's cold. Apple, Berry and maybe even Grape.
Make sure it's 100% juice and no added sugar! Hot green tea with lemon and honey. Tea and Coffee have allot of benefits. Try making sure it's all natural or you might get more problems than benefits. Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, etc.

Wow, thanks for the really informative answer. I actually quit drinking milk and started drinking rice milk again. It's made from rice, no dairy at all.

Milk is for baby cows. Drinking it straight in large quantities can't be healthy. Glad to hear you switched to rice milk.

Not anymore. Rice milk is gross. I used to like it and tried to get back into it again, but it's just really nasty now.

Uhm, nutritionally 500ml of milk per day is enough, 1 gallon is crazy you are over-exceeding the maximum + minimum amount per day. When too much milk is flushed in your system, your phosphorus get flushed away too, so you might be suffering from 1 of this 4 overdose effect (1) Calcium deposition in tissues or organs (2) suppression of bone remodeling (3) decreased zinc absorption (4) kidney and muscle problem. So do maintain your drinking milk habits!
