Is it normal to dress and act like a fictional character all the time?

I like to dress and act like doctor who, the current one bow tie and everything. I'm 20, my mum sais I'm weird and need help. I like the attention and not being me as I'm not my biggest fan. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? ( sorry I didn't know where to put this as it is mainly about the fact I dress like him.

Whose DR.Who?! It's all in fun, but you wrote that you're not your biggest fan. That sad, you need to face the reasons you don't like yourself and address them and move on. We all don't like something about ourselves and/or things we've done and decisions we've made, but you need to learn to love yourself. You're in good company no one is perfect so you're not alone.

I think there's nothing wrong with dressing up as someone. However, I feel as though you should sometimes be yourself. I think there's a deep psychological problem if you are acting like him and dressing like him every day. Possibly you are not find of yourself or you are trying to block out reality? I love dressing up as fictional characters as well, but I think if you are doing it every day it could be some sort of deep hatred. My friend is a huge fan of Doctor Who and I've never watched it, but some of the doctors seem cute tbh. Try to dress like you would as yourself because I bet that you are just as good of a person as The Doctor(s).

  • Who better to dress up as than the Doctor? XD I think it's awesome that you do that. I definitely would if I could afford all the stuff.
I even wish I could meet someone that cool out and about.
So yeah, doing what you love is normal XD You're not weird and you don't need help, only boring people say that. (No offence to your mum =p)

It's kinda strange but 'to each his own' right? I myself have been itching to go to an anime convention (I'M A DORK OK?! lol) and dress up as someone, ~^_^~ It's really fun, I have tried on holloween, and occasionally wear strange outfits just to illicit funny responses from people :D

  • Yea but I hate everything about myself and the doctor seems such a great person who I really look up to ( yes I know he's not real) but you get what I mean.

  • Well I do sometimes, it's easer ace cheaper to dress as the 11th as the big coat that David tenant wears is very expensive
