Is it normal to dream of rotten bananas?

I had this dream where I really wanted to eat a banana. I kept going into all the rooms of the house and I would see bananas lying around in random places like on the dresser, on the bed etc. However when I picked one up, it would be completely rotten and fall apart in my hands. It was the most bizarre dream. I would still like to have a banana. But it's not even my favorite fruit. I love mangoes.

    Past their prime bananas make the best banana bread. Perhaps you are really craving banana bread, not the bananas themselves.

    Was it because you were hungry? Whenever I fall asleep with an empty stomach, I dream about food. Sometimes the food is fresh, sometimes it's past due, or it could even be in the background. If not maybe you were just craving something sweet?
