Is it normal to dream about a dead person

So I'll be sleeping and I will see my dad who passed away 2 years ago when I was 16. It was a normal looking day and the sun was setting. I was walking by a golden brown mountain, and the sky was a golden red with some low lieing overcast clouds. For some reason I was walking with some mormons, I'm not mormon but my brother is, and it was the people her hangs out with at the church. Then they all look up and in the cloud was a face, one of them pointed and said "that's ---- " but I don't remember the name they said. They then said " its the end of the world" Then my dad was there and I was with an old friend, we got in my dads truck and started driving away. But then I got out alone and started walking far away with all the Mormons. Then I'm just out in a field with them with nothing around but distant mountains, and I woke up.

This dream had touched me in a way where I can't stop thinking about it, but I don't know what it could mean.

    first of all, sorry for your loss. and yes it is normal to dream about him. i can understand that you miss your dad a lot.

    I have dreams about my dad all the time. He passed 3 years ago when I was 18. It's normal. <3

    When my grandpa died, I had a dream about him a few days after the funeral. He was at my workplace, happy and smiling, and when I said "you're sick! You should be home resting!", he smiled and said he was fine. I believe loved ones visit us in our dreams! Shiver! =)

    Ugh I wish I could have dreams about my mom who passed away like I used to like... Idk I guess I was able to control what I dream about but I stopes having dreams about my mom and I cans control what I dream about anymore:(

    I'm Mormon. Yes this is totally normal to dream about a lost loved one especially someone so close as a father. I am deeply sorry for ur loss. Idk if u have ever been to church with ur brother or sat thru a sacrament meeting but we Mormons believe families can b together forever thru all eternity and with it being "the end of the world" tht might symbolize eternity and the Mormons are trying to tell u tht even tho u lost him u can still b with him forever.

    Yes it is normal. I had a friend that passed away and she was 18 and I have dreams about her all the time

    Maybe its time to let your dad go,(you getting out of the truck alone and him driving off) because you and your brother need each other.(your brother could have represented the Mormons since hes one himself)

    My mom passed away almost 4 months ago now and I have had a couple dreams about her and where she has actually talked to me! The most vivid of these happened two days after her death where she told me not to be sad and that we would see eachother again!!

    It is completely normal. My dad passed away 13 years ago and I dream of him at least once a week and I love it!!

    yeah , totally normal
    but it's gone by time. i mean i use to dream about my uncel , when he passed away. but with time year after year i stop dreaming about him.

    I lost both parents to cancer when I was 23. I dream about them constantly. It's wonderful. Sometimes sad sometimes happy, but all very normal. 10 years later still seems like yesterday. He's still with you. Just smile and say hi. =)

    hmm..family members in a dream are often complicated as with most blood relationships. The mountains symbolize obstacles and cars often symbolize control. Religion can be tricky as it is often a very personal feeling. but maybe you need ritual in your life.

    I'm sorry for your loss. How are you coping with the loss of your father? I am not an expert but it sounds like you are still trying to figure out how to move on without him in your life. And maybe your brother, or family in general is the answer.

    Regardless, it sounds like a beautiful dream.
