Is it normal to dread christmas when in the past i couldn't wait?

I usually love Christmas and everything about it, both religious and commercial. I love decorating, the music, and the tradition. But my Mom and I had to move in with my Aunt and cousin recently and its been difficult for both our families to live in the same household and adjust to the ways that each does things. My mom and I start to decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving but my aunt wanted to wait until the second week of December. I'm also worried that other more important traditions of my Mom and I's won't be done because its not our home. I'm dreading Christmas and scared it won't be how it always has been. Is this normal or am I being dramatic and selfish? Should I let my Aunt do things her way or be assertive and speak up?

I think a certain degree of compromise on your behalf should be afforded, but you should also have your input in the festivities. Try for mutual agreement, but be open to other ideas. You may enjoy it more who knows

Can't you work in tandem with her, where both your ideas come together and all are happy cos they've had some input? I think thats the best way and an important life skill.

I agree with u, Christmas get's more depressing with each passing year. Why? Because the world is falling apart. Plus the economy doesn't seem to b improving. Maybe that's why u feel the way u do. And u don't have to enjoy shit if u don't want to. You can feel depressed and sucidial like everyone else! It's your right.
