Is it normal to doubt yourself constantly?

Is it normal to not trust what your own mind thinks and feels? For instance when I am sick or hurting I doubt that I am really sick or hurt. I wait too long to go to doctor and usually create a bigger problem by having done nothing. Other times I might do something like lock a door and have to go back to it a few times to check it because I doubt that I really locked it. I recheck sent messages to see if I said what I thought. Is this normal?

It could be a very very minor case of OCD. My dad has this problem and that's what it was diagnosed as. But for all I know, you may just need a boost in self esteem. Next time you go to the doctor, just mention it.

  • it is to me. Not the sick thing but the door and computer yeah. I doubt my own feelings and everyday thoughts though. like my jokes and opinions and personality. like ever phrase i use i go back and think about it and im always thinking about the faces im making as i talk like at school and stuff. its weird but yeah youre completely normal :)

everything you said seems normal to me.

it is especially smart to doubt feelings, because sometimes they get the better of us.

i recheck sent messages also, because some times when i read what i wrote, it doesn't sound the way i originally intended it.
