Is it normal to doubt that he likes me after all he has done for me?

My boyfriend and i have been dating for 3 close to 4 months. He says he cares for me and since i had doubt that he did i let him know about it. He probably spent around 300 dollars on my christmas present, he holds the door for me, he loves to hug me and keep me close to him when we are together. Still i have doubt his into me. It's just that his my first boyfriend and he has had girlfriends before me. He speaks somewhat bad about his previews girlfriend and it makes me wonder if that all sweet things he has said and done have not only been said and done to me but also to his past girlfriends. I guess i am overlooking this to much. Is it normal to overlook to deep into this?

As I once said to my own GF who has similar doubts:

"If I didn't like you, would I do do much for you? I don't work hard to please just anyone, you know."

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

FIRST RULE IN A RELATIONSHIP! : you have to love yourself in order to recieve it (in your case, feel it) Don't second guess your man! If he's still around, and you both make each other happy, then live life! Get some confidence in yourself from your boyfriend :)

It's normal to have doubts and be insecure. That's not weird.

That doesn't mean it's good. Trust is a little more abnormal. Try it on for size.

  • Well its only a few months so you are being sensible not to draw big conclusions, while at the same time you acknowledge & appreciate the nice things. Yes - I will say it again - I think you are being very sensible and should not be swept away.
