Is it normal to do this for my girlfriend whom i love?

Your friends are just trying to act macho. They're probably indoctrinated with the stereotypical male model, thinking that men do not show affection, and only lust after women. Maybe they're jealous of what you have. Who knows. Truth is, their relationships are probably going to fail, where yours will succeed.

Just be sure that you're acting how you truly feel, and not just acting the way that you think she wants you to act.

Girls do not put up with being treated like shit forever and all your friends are going to be cheated on many times and do nothing but fight or get dumped and be caught in this miserable cycle forever and finally at 50 years old realize that you are the best! If she's not forcing you to put her above ur frends, and ur doing all of this stuff for her even when she never asked you to then its not normal at all. Its beyond normal!! Its great! AMAZING!! Of course it is normal! You love her don't you? If you really live her you wouldn't care what your friends think! Do they have girlfriends, if they don't have they ever had like a real relationship because it could just be them jealous! If you love her hat much you shouldn't care what they say!

If love is what she's looking for, she will want her man to be happy. It's all fine and dandy to do things for your girlfriend but you have to think about yourself to.

Many women call that kind of behavior a doormat or such thing. It doesn't have to be all about her. In a sense, thinking about yourself can be about her as well as she may enjoy making you happy just as much as you enjoy making her happy. And then, if she doesn't plan on working to make you happy at all; well who would want that?
