Is it normal to do drinking contests with your father?

The fist time I drank, it was a whole bottle of jack daniel (26 oz). All my friend was like WTF cause I wasnt sick. The next day, when I told this to my father, he tought I was a liar so we did a dinking contest. Since, I never lost. It was a good one with my father, it was fun.

Alcohol isn't something you become addicted to overnight. It takes years. One of the most common traits confirmed alcoholics share is they used be proud of how much more they can drink than everyone else.

You're not addicted at this point. Just be careful. You're human like anyone else. Alcohol has destroyed some of the best and brightest lives humanity has ever known. If you need a release, smoke weed instead. It's much, much safer. Trust me, I've done every drug under the sun.

I don't know man. That doesn't sound like a healthy thing for a father to do with their son. Drinking contests are extremely dangerous for both of you. You can die of alcohol poisoning if you drink enough. If you drink enough you can get alcohol poisoning and die

I suggest developing some other skills in which you can gain a sense of competence. If you don't, drinking will seem like the only thing you can do well and your life will be a total ruin.

The mere fact that you ask this means you KNOW it is not normal. Be careful. Liver damage, alcohol poisoning, DUI's, what ev...

As for your father, he needs to grow up. Having a couple of drinks once in awhile with my sons does not mean I should be doing it on a regular basis, or drinking too much, or having CONTESTS with them. I am their parent, not their drinking buddy.

There should be boundaries in life. Your dad is crossing them, and you need to assess your own capacity for good judgment.
