Is it normal to dislike when people talk in the third person?
It gets on my nerves. Like when a mother is telling her child, "Mommy won't let the monsters get you," or a grandmother telling her grandson, "Grandma bought you a new baseball glove." I also used to know a little girl, Addie (not her real name) who would talk about herself in the third party. For example, if she was talking about how hungry she was, she would say, "Addie's really hungry and wants to eat some chocolate ice cream!" It just sounds babyish when people do that...like they're trying to be Elmo or something.
