Is it normal to dislike someone because they drink?

Ok,so my friend (also my crush) seemed like a really nice guy for a while. Then, he told me he couldn't remember his vacation because he got drunk. Now I kind of...don't like him as much because he under age drinks. Is this nomral?

If you dont like him when he drinks then dont get involved with him. I get drunk almost everyday and my girlfriend loves me and enjoys being with me just the same

I notice the attitudes to alcohol differ massively in the UK and in America. If you guys came over to England and saw how much alcohol we drink on a Saturday night you'd probably have a heart attack lol! On a serious note though, if you're not happy with any behaviour of a potential partner then you should talk to them and try to find a compromise. If that still diesn't work, then maybe you just aren't meant to be.

If it's something that bothers you, then it just is. Drinking definitely can be a problem in a relationship. I drink, and my boyfriend does not. It makes me feel guilty and I think he judges me. It's definitely a barrier; just like any other differing beliefs.

I used to have a girlfriend I loved very much, but she had a drinking problem. She also liked to smoke when she drank. I was (and still am) a non-drinker and non-smoker. She would often sneak over to a local bar with her bar-fly friends from work before coming over to see me. She actually thought I didn't know.

The bar was across the street from my apartment.

Eventually, she started listening to and believing her bar-fly friends/idiots rather than me. They were successful in stirring up all sorts of drama between us.

So... One day I dumped her like a wet sack of potatoes. I refused to play second fiddle to alcohol. If overused, it's nothing but trouble.
