Is it normal to dislike people touching you?

When someone I don't know well randomly puts their hand on my back or shoulder when they're talking to me, like if they're apologizing for something, it makes me want to jerk away. I don't mind if it's someone I know, like a friend or relative or even a teacher, but if I've only met them once or twice it creeps me out. I'm not conceited or a germaphobe, and I was never sexually abused BTW. Is this normal?

I don't like it either, especially on my worst days.

It is invasion of personal space, by law.

I forgot to mention that I'm fine with shaking hands and I hug friends and friends of friends, and that it's mostly adults who do this that creep me out. Sorry about that.^^'
