Is it normal to dislike my half brother and sister?

For the longest time it was just my mom and I, then she got remarried. My step dad is a great guy and takes great care of us. I have no problem with him or my mother. It's their children together. Their children are rude, disrespectful, they don't listen, they're spoiled and constantly throwing tantrums, as well as fighting each other. They are 5 and 7 but they continue to act as if they're toddlers. My parents let them run wild and don't do much when it comes to discipline. I can't stand these kids, I know that it sounds horrible but how else am I supposed to feel when my forty year old parents let their children run the house?! Are my feelings normal?

I'm so sorry; that sounds miserable.

It's absolutely normal to dislike ill-behaved children, even if they are your half-siblings. Have you talked to them about your concerns? It isn't just bad for you; it's bad for those kids if they're being raised with no discipline whatsoever.

I don't know how old you are, but if you only have a few years left in the home, put a lock on your door so the little monsters can't get in, spend as much time as you can on your own and save up for that happy day when you can move out and see your mom and step-dad without the evil hellions underfoot.

I really do feel for you, OP.

Thanks for your response! It's complicated, I left for college in August and found out I was pregnant in September. I returned home in December because my dr recommended I be on bed rest due to issues with my cervix. I feel bad because they didn't have to let me move back in, but their children are making it difficult to keep the house a stress free zone. I've spoken to my mother about it and she says I just need to be more patient with them.
