Is it normal to develop feelings for someone far away?

I saw his pic online in a dating site.We never chatted but we send messages daily, mostly were morning greetings and goodnights to end the day.As days become months, I found myself having this feeling I feared is "Love".But I am suspicious.

No not love. He's probably a 50 year old bald, fat, slobby person. You never know who you are talking with online or long-distance. Ever heard that song 'i'm so much cooler online'? My 40-something year old ex mother in law used to chat to young guys online. Send them a pic of her niece. They would 'fall in love' and send her all kinds of things. She would even talk to them on the phone. I know 2 of the 'relationships' lasted for well over a year all the while these 10-20 year old men thought they were 'in love' with a pretty 20 year old girl.

  • Sounds like you got a pic of him and found him cute. Now all you're doing is making yourself believe that, based off a picture, he's the right guy for you. Sadly, it's normal.

    • Let's say he has known me more than I have known him because I am the talker. Most of the time,it is me who poured ideas about my life....yet, his nonjudgmental response to everything I shared to him made me feel welcome and more like accepted thus I developed this feeling...
