Is it normal to develop a short term obsession?

After I have a sexually charged dream (I'm not gonna say "sex dream" exactly because no sex actually occurs in the dreams), I tend to develop an infatuation with the person I dreamt about. After a few weeks or sometimes days it tends to fade, but it gets pretty intense. They become the object of my sexual desires for that period of time. Usually it's someone famous, but it's happened with a couple of friends.

Is it normal to develop these short term desires? I'm able to tell between real life and my dreams so I don't act on what I dream about, but it just seems abnormal to be obsessed over people, especially just for a few weeks.

Ha I do this too! Last week I had a dream about cuddling with someone I'd never given a second thought to and now...ugh. I just want to jump him

Do you ever act out on your feelings for this person do you do the dirty?

It's never as good as it is in the dream but at least you get your closure.

    • As much as I'd like to, I don't think Channing Tatum would give me the time of day. xP

But even if I dream about a guy I actually know, they're either already in a relationship, way out of my age bracket, or not interested in my gender.
