Is it normal to despise bad grammar?
I absolutely CANNOT stand bad grammar! I hate it when:
Apostrophes are in the wrong place (i.e. "snake's" instead of "snakes" and "The snakes dinner" instead of "The snake's dinner").
When people can't differentiate between "there", "their" and "they're" or "where", "were" and "wear".
When commas, full stops, hyphens, colons, etc. aren't used when they're needed or vice versa.
When words like colour are spelt "color", licence is spelt "license" and travelling is spelt "traveling".
And yet everywhere you go, even on signs and in professional newspapers, you see bad grammar! On a sign on the window of the local pub, I saw this terribly written sign:
Matts 20th birthday party come Sat night big dance off with 6 tv screen's and lots of drink's available
See all those grammar errors? I hate it! I hate how there are so many uneducated people in this world who can't think before they write.
But is it normal to despise bad grammar?
