Is it normal to despise bad grammar?

Before I start, I understand that some people don't speak English as their first language, and I'm not bothered by them making grammatical mistakes.

So, I've noticed that many people, particularly online, seem to have a phobia of using grammar in sentences or spelling things correctly. I don't care why, just STOP FUCKING DOING IT!!!

Is it really so goddamn hard to just write a fucking sentence properly?

It makes me so angry! Whenever I see a grammatically incorrect sentence, I feel like my skin is about to rip apart and flames are going to burst out of every orifice on my body. When I'm reading something and people have filled it with acronyms like "lol" and "OMG", I want to rip out all of my hair, curl up into a ball and just die.

It says you have to be at least 18 years of age to use this site, so WHY THE FUCK does EVERYONE have to write like a 4 year old?! Why are adults these days so fucking stupid and pathetic with their grammar?

I despise stupid people, and using incorrect grammar makes people look stupid. I just want to take every grammatically incorrect sentence in the world and do horrible things to them, as well as the fools who wrote them.

I am as perturbed by your ranting, hating and passion for something so insignificant in the face of greater life issues. Nevertheless I don't reply to messages where the person addresses me like: "hheyy hws u wt u doin. u okkkk? der?"

It must be tough for you browsing around the net. Stuff like "lol", "lmao" or "omg" have dominated almost every websites. I am more bothered to those who have to act like assholes on the net but I just realized it's a waste of time to rage over something that one can't change.

    • Not capitalising the first letter of a sentence and not adding a period to the end of it is ALSO bad grammar.

lmao i know this is just how i type. im just bein passive aggressive u know?

to be even more aggressive... "It says you have to be at least 18 years of age to use this site" yes? when i was like 13 i went through this phase too but then ya know what? i learnt i needed to chill. i can understand the way ppl type so what did it matter.

and dont criticize someones intelligence just bc they dont always use proper grammar all the time? that itself is stupid tbh, its the kind of assumptions & behaviour i would expect from..a child. :)

personally, i use this kinda speak to talk to ppl online. in informal situations. i aint gonna write a letter to my college like "eyyy lmao" bc i aint dumb.

I find the inordinate amount of fucking grammar related spazzing that's done on this website to be far, far more irritating than the shitty grammar itself,

Have a grammar checker on your own computer fix other people's lazy language habits. Easy enough.

I'm kinda used to it now. But I still find things written entirely in "internet-isms" less..human or something. It's like it's written by a semi incoherent robot.
Not only is hard to take the person seriously, it's hard to relate to them on any level whatsoever... Maybe that's weird, I don't know.

So, normal for it to grind you a little bit. Not worth getting angry about though.

It's all about laziness. I think it all started when the school systems began allowing calculators in class.
I've seen many responses on here to posts like your saying that the text speak and acronyms save time,, but honestly, what are they saving time for?
Most, by their own admission, can't get a date, are too shy to even talk to other people, can't figure out how much masturbation is normal, can't get a job or hate their mommy. What do they do with the 18 seconds they've saved by posting something that is nearly unintelligible and makes them appear to be total morons? Probably not study grammar and spelling.

The use of txt spk lk "lol" and "omg" on supposedly serious posts are usually indicators of how old the user is. We aren't your friends' Skype on a Saturday afternoon. If you want people to take your question seriously and answer it, you'll put a little more mature about it.

Okay look, you've got your phobias and I've got mine. My phobia just so happens to be a phobia of using grammar
in sentences or spelling things correctly. So yeah...
